Amazing fit and finish, fits into my edc perfectly, I wear it within a tale of knives big boy T tux XL between my Leatherman arc and o-light warrior mini 3
I’ve been a pen geek for years, even to the point of writing an article about “The Power of the Pen” for a law enforcement publication. I love writing. My problem is that I also like to switch between gel pens and ballpoint pens. Well, guess what? This pen will do everything! It will also do everything incredibly well. The adjustment for refills is ingenious. The comfort of a thin titanium pen is, well, comforting.
This has been my “go to” pen since I received it. I am even looking at a nicer, shinier one for when I have to go about town, or court, in a suit.
Unbelievable pen, buy one. You will not be disappointed.
Unlike the EDC model, the Slim Click suffers from a couple of issues:
1. When the ink cartridge is not in the deployed position, a rattle is present when one shakes the pen. The EDC does not have this issue.
2. Every so many clicks, the tip of the ink cartridge gets stuck in an overextended position. Not sure if this is due to the internal mechanism or the cartridge. Again, does not seem to happen on the EDC model.
Big Idea have been amazing in providing a replacement for the Slim Click due to another issue, but the issues above are present in the replacement as well.
Another general design consideration - the grip rings machined in to the barrel should go up twice as high in the barrel to allow for a better option of positioning one's grip.
Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback!
Just got my spare parts in today for my slim click pen . Great customer service! Quick and easy . Thanks again guys , thats why you’re #1 for me !!!!
1st off, the size and diameter of the 'slim click' is perfect for me. To be honest, I don't feel it is really slim at all. More like "just right", and I use lg/xl gloves. Weight is good being ever so slightly rear heavy to me. I don't really feel it while writing as much as when I'm holding it. Love the ability to add the damascus clip (I did). The mechanism to change out the refills works quick and easy. I swapped out the 'parker style' refill for my favorite Pentel Energel refill. Took moments to get it to the right length. The "clicker" is fairly smooth to me. Not silent but pretty quiet. No issues with it. Definitely less annoying to people around you if your fidgety and have to keep clicking your pen. Still satisfying as a fidget option.
If there are any cons, and this is nitpicking, I would wish for the tip of the pen to be more tapered. I think it's the way I write and because I use the needle point that the transfer from pen body to tip is more prominent in my mind. This is just a personal preference and has nothing to do with usability. The tip is held tight and barely moves, even with the needle point. Also, I'm thinking the pen may be this way to fit all the refill options and I'm very OK with that.
One last nitpick... I would love to see more color options. Maybe flat type colors or cerakote colors. Would be awesome to have even more options though it's not really needed. Just a thought from a pen fanatic.
Final thoughts... Though in the higher price range, this pen is phenomenal at this point and I feel it's worth the price. Feels great in hand and allows you to use so many types of refills that your almost guaranteed to use your favorite ink. No need to procrastinate, just buy it.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts, Alex. We really appreciate it!
