I have yet to use the pen, but the tube that housed the rollerball/ballpoint adapter was FAR too small for the piece.
I tried various methods of trying to extract the standard pen tip to no avail. In my efforts I ended up scratching the interior of the standard pen tip. I had to resolve to cracking and breaking open the tube with pliers.
Even when I exposed half of the tip and tried to pull the tip out it wouldn't budge at all. I, then again, slightly scratched the threads. I wasn't able to retrieve the standard pen tip until fully destroying the plastic tubing. Nearly cutting myself.
This size problem renders the tube useless. I now have nothing to store the fountain tip in, and negatively affected the standard tip in the process. Extremely poor design for such an expensive pen.
Expected more. Expected better.
Hi Oliver, please feel free to reach out to support@bigidesign.com we will be happy to assist.
I absolutely love my Ti Ultra Pen. It feels great in my hand and writes superbly.
I can not speak highly enough about this pen. The weight, the shape, the versatility, the aesthetic, everything! I originally saw this pen on the Lochby blog and was fasciated. After I saw the Figboot review, I knew I needed it. It feels amazing in the hand, and the extra o-rings give the cap such a snug feel, it's a great experience to just uncap the pen.
Two nibs for the fountain pen, and a refill for the ball point/rollarball/gel section! The value is in favor of the buyer.
Lastly, I got mine in 1 day! I don't know how that happened, but it arrived in record time.
This pen is worth so much more, and for a titanium pen, It feels great as an EDC.
See the FigBoot On Pens review.

Having many fountain pens already, I did not need another one with a Bock #6 nib, but if I had to choose just one nib it would be either the titanium or steel fine point, both of which were provided with the Ti Ultra. Changing back and forth between fountain pen and rollerball or ballpoint, for me, is not likely to be a daily occurrence, and my principal interest was in the rollerball configuration, which I see as a perfection of the earlier Ti Arto design. Everything about the Ultra is better, particularly its larger size and comfortable grip, and well worth the higher price. Perhaps my Pelikan R805 or Montblanc LeGrand rollerballs are more elegant, but the less expensive and extremely durable and adaptable Ti Ultra is functionally similar and a delight to use, and keep using.
This is hopefully the last pen I will ever get. It has good weight to it. The build quality is phenomenal and will be great as an everyday carry writing utensil. It also fits well in a shirt pocket. Five stars!
